KitchenAid Ice Cream Attachment
Imaging fresh never frozen ice cream made ready by you in about thirty minutes. With the KitchenAid ice cream
attachment, you can make fresh frozen treats the way they were meant to be made, all from the comfort of your own
kitchen.
Included with the KitchenAid ice cream attachment kit is a very large freeze bowl measuring 6.5” high by 10”
wide by 8” in diameter. The freeze bowl allows thorough and even freezing of the ice cream. It can actually
freeze the ice cream batter throughout the mixing process. It is also has the largest ice cream capacity of any
stand mixer. You can make two whole quarts of soft serve ice cream, sherbet or sorbet.
The kit also includes the plastic and metal drive assembly, the plastic dasher, and the adaptor ring. The
adaptor ring attaches to the bottom of the freeze bowl so it can fit on KitchenAid tilt head mixers. The dasher
works with the drive assembly to spread, mix and scrape the ice cream batter in the freeze bowl. The adaptor ring
and drive assembly are safe to wash in the dishwasher. The freeze bowl can be cleaned with warm water and mild
soap.
Here is how to use the KitchenAid ice cream attachment:
It is best to store the freezer bowl in the freezer for about fifteen hours. While the freezer bowl is in the
freezer you can prepare the ice cream batter in advance. To start, assemble the attachment and the stand mixer and
engage the drive assembly, freeze bowl and dasher. Next, set mixer speed to stir, while pouring the ice cream
batter into the freeze bowl. Mix for about thirty minutes to your desired consistency. After twelve minutes of
mixing, you can add any ingredients you desire like chocolate chips, candies, nuts or fruit. If you hear a clicking
noise from the dasher, this is a good indicator that the ice cream is done. Now remove the dasher and freeze bowl
by using a wooden or plastic spoon or a rubber spatula and transfer the ice cream to an airtight container or to
ready to serve desert dishes. The KitchenAid ice cream attachment will make a soft serve type ice cream. If you
prefer your ice cream to be more firmer than just store in an airtight container in the freezer for two to four
hours.
It is important not to freeze the ice cream in the freeze bowl in the freezer as this may damage the bowl when
trying to using a scoop or utensil to pry the ice cream out.
